With that said; there are basically three steps to successful mold removal that we would like to share with you. This way, you know what to look for when you hire a mold removal company, assuming that you don't choose Boone's Restoration Technologies.
Step #1: Contain the mold
A containment chamber is a crucial part of the mold removal/mold remediation process because it prevents mold spores from moving into uncontaminated sections of the home or building. Having a containment chamber, protective gear, and a respirator are all essential to protecting the health of the people who are performing the mold remediation service and the home or building's occupants. You'll want to make sure that the company you hire takes these steps and uses these protective materials. You'll also want to make sure that they use a negative air machine that is vented outside.
Step #2: Kill and remove the mold
Surface mold can usually be killed by fogging or spraying the mold with a highly effective mold cleaner/remover. However, you will want to be sure that your contractor does not use bleach to kill the mold or disinfect contaminated surfaces. Once the surface mold has been irradicated, mold stains and orders can be addressed.
Once the mold has been killed, another mold test needs to be performed. New building materials may need to be used, as damaged materials may need to be scrapped. Mold is removed by using vacuum technology.
Step #3: Protect from future mold infestations
Once the project has been successfully completed, we then need to take some proactive steps to make sure that future mold does not take root. This could involve getting rid of old items and materials that have been damaged and introducing a dehumidifier in the affected area. Remember, mold is everywhere. Even with the best mold removal/remediation service, there is still a risk for a recurrence of mold. That is why we need to be vigilant and proactive in defending against it.
Of the several steps that we follow, containment and safety are our top priorities, and they should be yours too! Ultimately, our goal is to remove the mold from your home or building and prevent future growth. We want to do so safely and efficiently.
